Editorial

Editorial standards.

How the Journal is researched, written, illustrated and corrected — and what it deliberately never claims.

Effective September 18, 2026

Purpose of the Journal

The Journal publishes design and construction commentary about luxury residential work in the Charlotte region. It exists to explain how residences are designed, detailed and built, not to advertise a specific residence or price.

Journal articles are general editorial commentary. They are not offers, listings, appraisals, or professional advice, and they never describe a residence as available, priced, or reserved.

Accuracy and sourcing

Company statements are limited to supplied facts. Technical commentary is general buyer education, not confirmation of code compliance or a property's performance. For applicable requirements, consult the local authority, a licensed professional and the manufacturer's documentation. Unsupported company practices, performance figures and property claims must not be generated.

Where a statement is judgement rather than fact — a view about proportion, material, or detailing — it is written as such. Market data, forecasts, and investment or appreciation claims are not published.

Imagery

Journal imagery is illustrative. Some of it is artist conception, computer-generated, or produced with artificial-intelligence tools for general design inspiration, and it does not depict any specific completed residence, address or interior.

Imagery is never used to imply that a residence exists, is complete, is for sale, or contains a feature that it does not contain.

Artificial intelligence in drafting

Artificial-intelligence tools assist in drafting and illustrating Journal articles. Daily questions and weekly features are published automatically after automated checks for repeated questions and prohibited claims. Automated checks are not human fact-checking. Peters Signature Homes is responsible for published content and corrections; no article is described as personally reviewed unless that review actually occurred.

AI tools are never used to generate legal terms, disclosures, pricing, specifications, or statements about a specific residence.

Independence and third parties

No placement in the Journal can be purchased. The Journal carries no advertising, no sponsored posts and no affiliate links, and no outside company reviews or approves articles before publication.

Where a trade name, brand or product is named, it is named descriptively. Use of a third-party name is not an endorsement by that party and does not imply any relationship with it.

Companies referenced

Peters Signature Homes, Inc. is a separate legal entity from any other company referenced in the Journal, including Peters Custom Homes, Inc. and Emerald & Oak Design. Work, credentials and operating history belonging to another company are never presented as this company's own.

Fair housing in editorial copy

Residences and neighborhoods are described by their physical features, design and location. They are never described by reference to the type of person expected to live there, consistent with the federal Fair Housing Act and Chapter 41A of the North Carolina General Statutes.

Currency, updates and corrections

Articles reflect conditions and standards at the time of publication and are not continuously updated. Codes, products and practices change.

If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it. Substantive corrections are made in the article itself rather than quietly removed.

Reporting an error

Corrections may be sent through the inquiry form, by email to npeters@peterssignaturehomes.com, or by telephone at 704-264-4572. Related pages: Journal · Property disclaimer.
